Simple Scrapbook Layouts

There are a ton of different scrapbook layout ideas that can make your photos and memories really stand out and look beautiful. It can be hard to start scrapbooking if you don't have a clear idea of what you want the pages to look like, so getting some inspiration before you start is a great idea. Start by choosing the photos and other pieces that you want to display in the scrapbook, and purchase a scrapbook cover. Next, you can decide what types of paper and borders that you want to use. Once you have all of your supplies, you can start making the backgrounds for the pages before you matte and mount the photos. Try some of these simple scrapbook layout ideas for your next scrapbooking project.

Summer Theme Scrapbook Layout

Get a number of different summer and beach themed stickers, colored paper, borders and paper punches to begin crafting your summer theme scrapbook layout. The key to this simple scrapbook layout idea is to weave a consistent theme of bright and fun colors throughout the book. This theme works best for displaying photos from a family vacation, beach trip, summer camp, a summer birthday or any other activity that takes place during the summer. Put at least two photos on each page, and don't go overboard with cutting the edges of the photos. Let the fun stickers and borders create the layout instead of the photos since there are so many decorative options for this type of theme. Alternate putting photos straight on the page with putting photos at angles to create interesting lines in your scrapbook layout.

Wedding Scrapbook Layout

Scrapbooking special moments from a wedding is one way to keep the memories in a safe and beautiful place. A wedding scrapbook is normally made up of mementos from the wedding, like an invitation or a menu from the receptions, along with carefully chosen pictures from the wedding day, the ceremony and the reception. Wedding scrapbooks will mostly consist of white and pastel pages with borders that are dainty, lacey or match the colors that were used in the wedding. Keep the scrapbook layout for the wedding scrapbook simple so that the eye goes to the photos instead of a bunch of stickers or other things on the page. For an extra special touch, write photo captions in cursive or calligraphy to add an element of elegance.

Baby Boy or Girl Layout

Celebrate the birth of a new baby with a cute scrapbook that can hold photos and treasured mementos from the baby's first few days or weeks. A scrapbook for a baby boy or girl will normally include photos, a hospital band, inked footprints or handprints and much more. Whatever special things you cherish about those first few days should be included in the baby scrapbook layout. Shop for stickers, paper and borders that go along with the colors you used for the baby's room, or just simply pink for a girl and blue for a boy. Often times, putting just one photo per page and really decorating the background will make baby scrapbook layouts really special. You can also take special photos of the baby's feet and hands, or display some black and white photos for variety.
