Unique Anniversary Gifts Come From the Heart

Unique anniversary gifts are often things that would mean nothing to someone else, but everything to the person you love. They could be expensive, or they could cost nothing more than the thought to bring things together. The most important thing to remember about unique anniversary gifts is that they require a lot of thought, and they may need some time to arrange so keep this in mind when planning something unique for your spouse on your next wedding anniversary.

The most basic unique anniversary gift you could buy is something that is personalised. Your partner's name isn't "unique" enough, but perhaps an engraved quote that was used at your wedding, or a piece of jewellery with your names, and wedding anniversary information engraved on it is. Another idea would be to have your names, wedding date, and how many years the anniversary is celebrating engraved onto a silver vase and give to your loved one containing a single long stemmed red rose, or alternatively, one long stemmed red rose for every year you've been married.

If you have travelled, you could create a digital book of places you have visited. Add in photographs, and write about what you remember of the trip - keep the focus on the fact that this is for an anniversary gift so you want to record memories of what you did together rather than the things you saw. If you have good computer skills, you could turn this project into a multi-media event and incorporate music, voice-over and even video footage if you have any. A variation on this would be to do this for your wedding. Ask around your friends for any photos (remember to swear them to secrecy) and video clips that they may have, and then put these together with your own commentary recording your memories of the day. Even if you have a professionally produced video, the one that you create will be sure to take first place!

Does your loved one have a favourite cause, or animal? If so, a unique wedding anniversary gift would be to highlight this. You can donate money in your partner's name to help people in a developing country, sponsor a child, or an animal. There are many opportunities available so find out what your partner is passionate about and see what fits your budget best.

The main thing about unique anniversary gifts is that they may be relatively inexpensive, but the thought and time you have put into creating something so personal will be far more appreciated than a gift that cost a small fortune but has little emotional value attached to it other than the fact you're giving it. So next wedding anniversary, don't just give a gift to the person who shares your life, give a piece of your time - and your heart!
