A wedding at first glance is not exactly a kid friendly event, and as most parents know, a bored child is one that will likely get into mischief! That is why it is important for a bride to plan activities to engage and entertain young guests during the wedding. It can be a challenge especially when the wedding is supposed to be about you and your groom. However there are some creative ideas that you can use to achieve your goal!
Here are some ideas to consider:
- Erecting a kid's tent or designated play area is often a good place to start. Rather than have children sit with their parents and being bored throughout the night, allow them to interact with other children at the wedding in this designated play area. You can stock it with games, books, puzzlesand movies at a relatively low cost. You should make sure that the area has proper supervision of course.
- Planning some party games for the kids. This is great for the wedding reception after everyone has eaten. Younger children can be occupied playing popular party games like musical chairs or blind man's bluff.
- Prize giveaways are another interesting and fun option. Most kids enjoy getting gifts and party favors. You can organize a game or scavenger hunt where kids earn party favors. Great party favor ideas would small but safe toys. You can normally buy these at your local store or order them online. These need not be expensive.
- Playing some music which kids will enjoy during a portion of the wedding. Have all the little ones come out and have some fun dancing the night way. This would most likely make for some adorable photo opportunities!
These are just some of the many ideas you can use to occupy children at your wedding! Whatever you decide on, know that happy kids mean happy parents and result in an overall memorable experience for everyone!
